whats your top speed
140 unmodified, haven't tried it with the 331 kit
Actually Marty claimed to get 100mph with his 331, cams, mikuni 33. Below is an excerpt of a post of his
"I'll say this about the way this bike runs . . . . . it's flat out loads of fun to ride. No longer do you have to have the engine wound out tight in 5th gear to keep running along at 75 mph. You just ride along in 6th gear - I've gone back to a 14 tooth countershaft sprocket - and 75 mph is about 7400 rpm. Cruising along at that speed is quite simple. If you need to go faster, simply twist the throttle and the bike starts to accelerate! This is a very nice feature of the setup I have. Lots of torque when you need it. No longer do you need to spin the motor up to have power.
I have not built up the nerve yet, but one of these days, I'm going to install new tires, set the pressure pretty high and then find a nice, long, unobstructed road. The way this bike is pulling in 6th gear, my instincts tell me it will top 100 mph - known for a long time as "The Ton" in the motorcycling crowd."
He did go on and hit 100mph I just can't find the post.
To give you an idea, to only person I know of who has broke 100MPH on a KLX is a member of this forum who eaked-out close to 40hp by going large bore and stoking the crankshaft out until he had a diplacement of about 376cc, not too mention a grunch of other exotic/expensive mods to the heads, valves and valve springs on top of that.

Kwgld's bike easily puts-out 10hp more than Marty's, but he barely eeked-out 106 on a GPS with a 15T sprocket...and believe me, that engine is a freak compared to Marty's. Also, KW's HP curve is much more suited to getting a higher top speed. In contrast, Marty's bike is all bolt-on hop-ups unlike the work done on the valves, valve springs, ports, CDI, flywheel, crankshaft and case of Kevin's bike.
Don't get me wrong..Marty did great job with the parts and limited money he put into 'the beast,' but 'the beast' comes nowhere close to the nearly 40hp needed to get a dirt bike to an honest 100mph.
You can't find the 100MPH (100GPS) post from Marty because it never happened (must have been a good Tueys day for you..Emu Export?? Swan Lager...haha!). I can even email him to verify that. I will buy 100 INDICATED, DOWNHILL!

Thanks tremor, haven't posted much lately. My 374 bike hits 100 pretty fast but that last 6 mph takes a bit. Been playing with a lite shot of nitrous and I'm sure it gets it there faster. I ran in to the 13's with this setup but its about maxed out now. It runs pretty even with the 450 now and just hammers on the stock 250s that i bought. I'm looking a a Husky 510 smr but I'm traveling to Russia now so that has to wait.
