Question What are those?

Hey!

Got my new KLX250S yesterday (2012 European model with EFI). Really pleased with it so far after some 50km's of break-in. =) It's my first bike since my teenage years of riding a 50cc moped. ^__^

But I noticed there are some hoses hanging from the right side of the bike. And the one with something attached to it does not seem to be very wood-safe, since they hang lower than the crankcase.

Anyone have any idea what are these? And have you done anything about them?

Thank you!

Airbox drain tube. It goes into the dirty air part of the airbox and will drain fuel and/or oil that could build up from the crankcase vent or carb. It will also drain any excess oil you might have applied to the air filter. Mine disappeared pretty quickly, and I just let the rubber hose do the draining. Hardly anything actually gets collected in the airbox to drain out of there anyway, unless you have some real problems.

But mine are hanging unusually low. The black tube is not far off from the ground. I'm worried it might get stuck by the container somewhere, when riding off-road.

And what's the purpose of that container attached to the black tube? Should it be giving me an idea, that something's wrong, when it's filled or what? :P

edit:
I went to take a look at it again and realized I'm probably overreacting.
It's not as low as I thought. Adjusted the black tube a bit and there's now probably a very low chance something would get get stuck to it and rip it off.

If you ride a while they will be crushed by rocks and fall off, no worry.

The bike has to have a stupid catch bucket in case a few drops of oil may escape the engine. But in the gulf, just let thousands of gallons leak into the water, "what, me worry"????
Ditto on radioactive pollutants that will last 250,000yrs still leaking into the pacific.
Thank you major corporations.
