but there could be sounds my speakers dont put out either

Like I mentioned before, my bike is definitely noisier when cold but it not a rattle monster like a ducati. At this point I would just monitor the oil filter for signs of distress and just ride the snot out of it. If it's going south then you will know soon enough and it's not going to make a difference on what it's going to take to fix it. Been there, done that...

 

Thanks again for the reassurance. I'm sure I wouldn't be as concerned if either of my other bikes had similar noises, but they sound like sewing machines, compared. I don't know that they may be unusually quiet.

Does your other KLX have a skidplate?
If not that could be the difference you are hearing.
