What GPS do you use with your KLX?
I replaced a Garmin GPSMAP 60CS with a Garmin GPSMAP 60CSx. The new one is a little better at receiving signals and has more memory.
If any one would like a good deal on the old one ( Garmin GPSMAP 60CS ), let me know. It's still in good working order.[/align]

Hey guys, thanks for all the welcomes and the suggestions!
Deej, I'm from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, any other KLXers in TO? Enjoy the 360, I got one with a Plasma TV deal last year, love it, my kids have a great time with it.
I'll check out advrider's GPS section, thanks a lot for the suggestion Jason!
Very good point on the waterproof comments, to be honest i hadn't given it any thought at all until you mentioned it here, thanks!

Garmin GPS III+. I got it free from work when they upgraded the Storm Chase truck. I didn't get any software or maps with it, but that has not been a drawback to the way I use it.
It'll mark waypoints, do routes and tracks. Everything I need it to do. I use several freeware programs to plan and load routes.
USAPhotomaps is the main program that I use. You can get it here.... http://jdmcox.com/
No color display or fancy stuff, but it does just what I need it to do.

I'm using a Garmin Edge205 off my mountain bike, doesn't have mapping but it's nice and small to mount on the handle bars and gets good life from the built in rechargeable batteries. I plug it in to my computer and download the waypoints before a ride then can upload the trail after the ride and have it laid over google earth or maps.
Thanks everyone for the replies and comments. I went to the SuperShow yesterday, got a change to look/play with the Zumo a bit, am definitely leaning that way.
On an interesting side-note, i want to be able to do bluetooth with the Zumo and my phone so i can make/receive calls with the helmet on, got a chance to look at both the Scala Rider bluetooth solution, and the Nolan NCOM solution, which is built right into their helmets.
Loved the Nolan, but between $800-$1000 Cdn for the helmet, speaker/mic kit, and bluetooth NCOM module, yikes! Scala on the other hand about $150 Cdn, 99% sure that's the direction i'll be going.
Once i get things set up and figured out, i'll post back and give an update, thanks again!
Cheers,
Dave

The GPS mount that is on Thunderchilds bike: Is that the 1" ball clamp that connects to the 7/8" handlebars ? I have theRAM mount and 3" armfor my Garmin GPSMAP 76S but not sure what type of ball mount is best on the bike. Open to suggestions..
I use a Magellan explorist 100. I picked it up for $70 two years ago and the thing works great. it lasts all day on two AA batteries. it has all the basics like speed, trip odo, track plotting, etc. I havecrashed quite a few times right on the thing, soaked it in water, and dropped it. It still works and looks like new. From my experience with some of the more expensive models, they tend to use up batteries too quick and the special features like maps and color is unnecessary. Plus, I tend to ride my bike as hard as I can which leads me to crash ALOT. I had the Lowrance hunt before I crashed and smashed the thing. When using a GPS all you need is speed, track plotting, and route navigation. When you purchase something with all the bells and whistles, you will just end up playing with your GPS then what you set out to do (ride). My GPS is simple to use, pick up a signal quicker than any I had ever used, and leads me back to my truck when I get lost. I worked at GI Joes for 2 years during college sellingall the best GPS's and this is the one I prefer.
I’m looking at getting a gps, has anyone tried the explorist 600 ?
