What is the collar?

I went to order all the carb parts today for the typical carb mods. I could get everthing except the collar. It is on backorder and my dealer said I won't see the collar till the end of July. WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!

What does this collar do?
I'm guessing you can't use the adjustable jet needle without it?

Looks like shiming the stock needle till Aug is my best bet. Seems silly I have to wait that long.

Need some advice.

Go to the hardware store and get a tiny washer... thats all it is.

I just performed the carb mods without the collar. Just use the stock needle with a washer for a #4 machine screw. The collar showed up the day after I did the work, but I don't think it's worth it to tear it apart again, only to put on the collar. The bike runs awesome the way it is.
