Went Riding W/Pics and Video
Since I had the weekend to myself I figured I'd get the KLX out, weather be damned. So I went for a nice sunny ride in the "balmy" 18 degree weather. With the way we've been having warm-ish days and below freezing nights all the snow that's left is pretty darn hard. There were only a few places where I broke through the upper crust. I did need the studs though as it was more or less just ice on the top, it was slick even just walking.
Anyway here's some pics of the KLX in its winter environment...

And my favorite pic of the day....

Yes...those are tree tops that are just barely sticking out of the snow, they are usually just below seat height.
And a vid with some "sweet jumps"...........ok not really but the tires did leave the ground. I was on roughly 10" of snow and didn't want to plow the front tire on a landing and go over the bars so I kept it pretty tame.

excellent pics josh. soon enough we'll be riding in the good weather. speaking of that. i finally have a second wheels set coming in. what are those tires you have? i know they're cheng shin barracuda's but what sizes?
Great pics and vid clip, Josh. Riding on that hard pack snow looks like fun! Seems like you could just pick a direction and take off through the woods without having to slow down for downed trees and brush. That sounds like it would be a blast! I'd like a helmet cam vid of that.
I could more or less go where I wanted but there were soft spots in the crust and the snow is still 10-12" deep. I had a few times where it broke through and got bogged down but overall its was good. The top surface was like extremely hard dirt at times and others it was coarse ice crystals. Without the studded tires it would have been a miserable ride. There was one spot where I had to go way off course to cross a spring and I could just wander between the trees. Coming back through it was a slippery slope to get down and back up out of the gulley
