Sorry for your truck man. Look at kelly blue book for comparable value then you'll know they low ball you or not.

That's what I'm afraid. Maybe they'll fix your truck instead of totaling it.
Looks like the frame is intact. The body panel is an easy fix. Cheap at the junk yard.

insurance does not use kbb to give a value to your vehicle if it is a total loss....what they will do is use your zip code...do a search for all similar year, make and model that was sold or selling within or near your zip code....they will use this as their reasoning to why they will offer you $x,xxx....

that is why i suggest you start looking up the highest asking prices at used car dealerships or newspapers within your area or up to about 50 miles away...and, start copying and collecting higher prices...doesn't have to be exact, but similar year, make and model with similar options (or little more options )...than, also have copies of any service records or new replacement parts you've spent money on....this way you can have something to back up your reasoning on why you should get more if they low ball you...(some companies will not low ball...i know farmers insurance is actually very generous for total loss claims)

Step 1. Get check from her insurance company.

Step 2. Replace headlight

Step 3. Trim any sheet metal that the tire may hit.

Step 4. Haul Bikes

I don't understand the big problem?

Yeah, I thought about just replacing headlight and hammering the metal - but that thing would look like a huge POS sitting in front of my house all beat up. If I had somewhere to hide it in back or something I would.
I should hear from her insurance today. I'm holding out for $3k. I have some local ads printed like suggested. If I can get $3k, I'll buy a trailer and consider the truck a loss. I could tow with my Subie or wife's CRV if I needed.

CL, my estimation of you is going to drop dramatically if your start driving a Subaru or CRV. You need a good pickup or other man's style vehicle like I drive.
