Default question...

I am really interested in the KLX 250 and am planning on buying one. I just want to know if anyone can tell me how it is for long distance travel on highways? And it's top speed?
Thank you!

Welcome! I've found top speed for my stock '07 to be around 83 mph (hunched down, throttle pinned), but the bike is much happier cruising along at 65. The limiting factor for long distance highway riding is the stock seat, which can be replaced with an aftermarket seat for several hundred dollars. Riding in traffic at highway speed, you will have to get used to being affected by wind turbulence from other vehicles (not a problem, just something to think about). The stock tank will hit reserve after 90 to 100 miles. I put on a Clarke tank and can get closer to 150 which to me is a much more reasonable range.

Welome to KF.

It wouldn't be my choice for extended highway use.
Its just not a pleasant ride and that's not what the KLX is designed for.
It can do it if required but if I was planning to a lot of highway stuff, nup.

Good luck.
