Default Weird wires please identify

I am adding lights to my klx and want to tie everything together. I have a handful of wires that seem useless.

First is this connector that both sides run from and to the same things. Black and yellow is from the negative coil, yellow goes to the next wire, red, that is attached to nothing!

Take a look in Sticky - "KLX manuals" and see if there is a schematic. Not knowing what year or model of bike you have doesn't help in identifying the wires.

Sorry its a 1995 I haven't been able to find a schematic that has open ended wires like mine.

I've also got two yellow wires from my regulator. One of them splits into two and I'm not sure why.

Anyone got an idea why there is a couple useless connectors and three yellows from my regulator?

Why don't you just make it simple.
Add a wire ring on the + of the battery, put a fuse in it, run it to the front of the bike. Drill a whole in the plastic headlight shroud, put a toggle light switch in that and tie all your lights into it.
I got a 93-96 manual if you really want to get into rewiring the whole bike, pm me your email and I'll send you pictures of the schematics. But it will be much simpler as noted above.

I'm an elec engineer, and one thing I have found out over the years is every engineer does wiring different. They have their reasons, and if you want to rewire the whole bike, you will be rewiring the whole bike, and it will only satisfy you. When your almost all done, you may find out why they wired it the way they did. No one else will ever want to work on it.

I would assume they go to something that doesn't work anymore. What electrical parts are still functioning correctly? durielk's suggestion is probably going to be your best bet, much simpler than what you're trying to tackle.
