What I've done so far

Flatside carb + podish filter (So airbox removed! less weight!)
Flush mounted rear blinkers
Aftermarket removable front blinkers
Cyclops headlights (detactable with 2 bolts)
Aluminium rear sprocket (not sure about the no O ring chain)

What I"m looking to do

I was looking at the Twin Brothers
Two Brothers V A L E M 7 Aluminum Slip on Exhaust 06 12 Kawasaki KLX250S SF | eBay

That should drop some weight, but is the FMF lighter?

Also which battery do you suggest? Also, can the coolent overflow be removed, or is that highly suggested to stay mounted?

Lastly, I was gonna ditch the normal instrument panel anyways for a light weight model I can mount on the bar and call it golden.

Trail days I'd strip her naked as much as possible anyways. So that should clear it up right?
If you're gonna ride trail, you need an airbox.

My overflow tank was pulled too. I forgot about that.

I think that's subjective honestly.

I've ridden some pretty nasty, wet, muddy, and sticky trails in the last two weeks..One that my bike nearly went under to the carb...Bike pulled out like a champ, checked the filter..Clean and moist..But still effective and use-able.

I can see if a user does not clean it after a ride since it's washable style..Little water..Decreaser, wham bam..Clean ma'am.

I've ridden pods for nearly 6 years across my wide selection of carb bikes, they are "picky" and sometimes problematic for novices. But once you spend a while tinkering with them, if kept clean and tuned there is no issue and I've never seen a performance hit of more than a couple % 8/10 I see better performance.

The rider is moveable ballast. I'm not a phd but would think that adding or subtracting ten pounds to/from the rider or ten pounds to/from the bike[pick a place] would not cause the same reaction.

Any way light bikes are easier to pick up.

My weight reduction scheme went out the window since I put on the Baker tank, at least I have some ballast in the back now for wheelies.
I just decided to get stronger and be more fit cardio wise, because the only time the weight bothers me is when I get my *** whooped by the same obstacle repeatedly and have to pick up the bike over and over in the same spot.
But I do understand the desire for a lighter bike. I will eventually find a 125 2 stroke for real trail riding days and leave the KLX for more dual purpose use and commuting.
