Default Web-Cam camshaft. Anyone have one installed?

Anyone here using a Web-Cam camshaft? What spec are you running and was there a noticeable power increase?

Yes we have a few members with the 101.. Research Gbauto 's posts .. He has a "full tilt" 351. He did say he thinks the cams added a little..

Fact is we have no data at all concerning the effects of the 101's..

Call Bill Blue - He and I talked quite some time about the 101's and he has knowledge concerning them. In a nutshell, he told me the 101's were not developed for the 250, but were developed for Larry Roeseler's big bore race engine.

According to WebCam's listing there are three options available not just the 101.

61-201 631 Excellent throttle response. Increases overall power.

61-171 101 Larry Roesler's favorite. Quick acceleration with plenty of mid and top end power.

60-411 55 Excellent mid and upper end performance for racing engines only. Requires Exhaust System, High Compression Piston, and Performance Valve Spring Kit.

Yes but the 101's are the ones that offer significant change from stock.

Long ago I checked the differences between stock and the 631's.. All I remember is my conclusion - a small change (perhaps in lift only?) that was not worth the cost to me.

AFAIK, there is no info at all on use of the other two offerings..

What about the oversized valves? Wonder if those are worth looking at...

I have the 101. When my 351 hammered the b/e rod bearing, it required a complete tear down. I decided to swap the cams out and do some basic port work to the head. I didn't go with o/s valves and I feel that the exhaust port design is the limiting factor on this engine. Without some serious time on a flow bench experimenting with shapes, the improvements are minimal.
The difference on my 351 on the oe and 101 cams seems to be this: above 6k it definitely makes a noticeable gain and the engine will make power to 10k before nosing over. I think that Kawasaki should have used a similar profile as the oe cam-it would have pepped up the engine.
Bottom line-would I spend the money on cams???
Based on the cost vs gain- NO, I wouldn't. If you are looking for more power I would find a better engine as a starting point. I think that added displacement is going to make the best improvements. Just my experience.
