Just noticed some water spots accumulating after rain drops sit for a while on the cowling? above the headlight. Seems to go away when they dry off, but I've now noticed some horizontal lines that looks like faded wax or something. Any tips on buffing out or rewaxing the plastics?

Do they have wax?

 

I don't wax unpainted plastic but there are special polishes that should work. One of my favorite ones is mirror glaze but I'm sure there are others.

Mother's Plastic Polish works about as good as anything I've seen.

 

Go buy a headlight bag and you will never see those spots
I wax mine anyway but a plastic polish will probably be better.

Vinegar will remove water spots without being abrasive.

 

Novus makes an excellent plastic polish and fine scratch remover. Works great on the KLX, pinball playfields, etc.
