Question, if the vent tubes going under water stalls the bike, will they also suck water up into the carb and is it this water going into the cylinder that is stalling the eng? And if i was in some nasty muddy water do I need to clean out anything internally? ( carb,cylinder) Thanks

 

Clean the carb and the rest will take care of its self. If you hydro locked the motor, pull the plug, crank on the bike and get as much of the water out as possible, and then change the oil 4-6 times. To prevent this in the future, do the carb vent mod.

The vent tubes are exactly that, vents. The carb needs to vent in order for the slide to work correctly. The bike stalls when those are blocked because it stops the flow of air out of the carb (just a guess) I can't imagine they would draw air in because of their location, if they drew air in they would suck dirt straight in the carb while you are running.

If you were in some nasty stuff look at the lines and see if they still have mud stuck in them.

Check your airbox for signs of water, it seems highly unlikely those 2 little lines would suck up enough water to enter the cylinder. However if you were up to the airbox in water.............thats another story.
