Cool. The new law also spells out the minimum street legal requirements for our state too. Of particular interest to me is the blinker law, they need to be visible for 500 feet to the rear in normal sunlight but only spaced as far apart as "practicable" which means my new flush mounts are legal.

RCW 46.37.200: Stop lamps and electric turn signals displayed.

Hmmmm I'll have to read about this, I always thought that blinkers were not even required.

Required

  • Eight states require all motorcycles, regardless of model year, to have turn signals. Those states are California, Florida, Massachusetts, New Mexico, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

The new law also specifies the rear fender must extend down halfway to the axle. That must be the reason for the OEM whaletail that so many of us have ditched.
