Exclamation I Need A Part -- Where Can I Order (minus dealer)

My helmet locker ring/thing is broken. It's been used about twice and it won't lock shut.

I'm not sure if I need a new one, or if I should just soak it in Break-Free in case the mechanism is just bound.

Assuming I need a new one -- any idea of cost and will it come with a seperate key since it would probably be nearly impossible to pull my guts to insert in a new one?

Thanks...

Take it off and soak it in LIQUID WRENCH.

I've got mine off and am looking at it. It looks as though it can be taken apart and can probably be rekeyed.

I had to take mine off and add a bit of clearance. I used a file but sand paper might work as well. Oh yea my latch would not catch. Water proof grease and it works fine now.

Those are made to be taken off and thrown away.

Ronayers.com is usually reasonable about parts. At least you can go there and look at the parts fiche and get part numbers and pricing.

Thanks y'all!

I took it off, lubed it, and it's good to go again.

Re: throw it way --

No thanks. It's useful on a quick trip to the store/whatever when I don't want to tote the helmet in. Will it stop a real theif? Nope. But it does add some piece of mind.
