Thanks for the heads up. I just used those very same caps last night. I was concerned about heat being an issue when I put them on.

I used the Help brand plugs too and they rotted on me. Has anyone found better plugs? I just went to Lowe's and tried the hardware section and the guy told me to try Bed Bath and Beyond?!?! I read that Todd bought some at Lowes - anyone know which department they might be in? I looked over the whole store with no luck...

SHAT!! I used these on both my VTX and my KLX to cap off the vaccum system. Damnit. So What is the solution to this, to use silicone to cover it up?

I used to have the same problem on an old 4 wheeler that I had..... Anyway, the Holley brand vacuum caps are a lot thicker and lasted a lot longer than the help ones....

What happens if we take the wires that originally came off with the Smog sysytem and cut them short, put silicone on the end of them so that no air gets out. This way we have a good rubber compound that won't dry rot, at least I would hope they would'nt coming from Kawasaki, and problem solved

That's all I did to most of mine.... except that I stuffed a very small screw or a brass pipe plug in the end first.
