Welcome to the forums Trail Blazer, you will not be disappointed on the KLX decision. I have the 2006 KLX and my wife has the 2006 XT 225. My bike is jetted and piped and I changed the gears a bit. The difference between the two bike is absolutely amazing. I feel like my KLX has twice the power and twice the suspension. Don't get me wrong, the XT is a great bike that has a following that goes back a lot of years. But you will love the bike you got. Glad you found us, and again welcome!

Thanks for all the words of encouragement. This is a great forum and I'm finding a lot of good info here. I posted some pics below.

I'd be interested in hearing your comments on whether you guys think I got her for a fair price or if I overpaid. She's a 2009 and the odometer shows 3829. Note the rear tire wear. If it was mostly rode on the pavement then would that be normal wear for the mileage? I paid $3100 (including tax and title) out the door from a Kawasaki dealer in Bad Axe, Michigan.

BTW if your buying new tires for riding in Michigan you want kenda 760's in the back and scorpion pro
they are awesome in the sandy conditions we have in the great lakes
Well hello fellow Michigander! Thanks for the link to GLDS club, very cool.

I know not all the trails are sand but yes, it's inevitable you'll encounter sandy conditions riding here in Michigan. Just to be clear you're recommending:

Rear: Kenda K760 Trakmaster II
Front: Scorpion Pro All Terrain/Enduro or Scorpion Pro F.I.M. (seems like the same tires with slightly different names)

As for size; I was thinking of going with a slightly wider rear than stock: 110/100x18
For the front, the Scorpion seems to only come in 90/90-21 (which is a little wider but not quite as tall as stock). Would I be good to go with those size tires?

Scorpion Pro F.I.M.

get yourself rim/bead locks also

I just went with stock since i run 12-14 PSI in the back tire on the trails (helps with the sand)

An yes virtually every trail in Michigan is sandy LOL
