So, EMS,if he takes it to the dealer to have them look at the bike, listen to the "wierd" noise. Of course they will likely say the noise is normal, and not to worry. If he gets this in writing, and then later on down the road the head grenades, is his *** sufficiently covered?

Word of advise.... my dad works for aftermarket warranty companies.... Alot of people think because they have a warranty it covers everything all the time..... not so.... now im not sure exactly what would happen the kawasaki but my dad has gone out one somethings that arent so good. Say the water pump stopped working, and you knew ( or didnt know) it and kept riding... kawi might only pay for the water pump and not the damage of an overheated motor cause you kept riding it.... happens all the time..... i would not reccommed doing that... i never had an issues or anything but just giving you the heads up....

I certainly realize that good piece of advice and I’m not speaking of continuing to run an overheating engine however; if my engine ever starts to fail internally as I’m riding you can bet you’re sweet behind that I’m gonna hold the throttle wide open until absolute destruction occurs and then deny everything.

Im hoping its just the adjuster about to take up another notch......Im going in to get my fork seal fixed this week probably so Ill tell them to take a look then. (the morons left a sticker on the lower part of the fork, so of course, it popped the seal the first night I had it). If they do claim its nothing Im going to get it in writing to cover my butt. Thanks for all the help so far guys!

Taco, weren't you just over at Brian's pad yesterday, what did he think of the noise?

You two kids should head down to the Scrub (N. FL) one of these weekends for some warm Cracker riding....I'll head North and meet ya.

We revved it a few times in the garage, but I didn't hear it. Maybe it only happens under load when riding? I'm guessing it's the cam chain adjuster, like others have suggested. Otherwise the bike sounded smooth and normal to me. But then again I've been used to my KTM which sounds like a bag of hammers falling down a steel spiral staircase, so any bike sounds quiet to me.

I dont think getting anything in writing will help...and i dont think they will do that, the dealer isnt gonna put itself liable for anything they are not sure of... but i bought the warranty so it didnt matter what happened it was covered, kawi is great with warranty work, imo, The problem is the dealer, that freaking idiot at the one dealer didnt know what a loose timing chain sounded like, when i have never herd what it sounds like and i told him the problem was the timing chain all along... [:@][:@] all i can say is good luck.

Gotcha zx1100, thats what i did when i dropped the intake valve... the bike shut off and i just kept hitting the starter button and turning it over until it wouldnt turn over any more [sm=badbadbad.gif]Too bad i couldnt have gotten a300 jug [>:]
