Default Vapor Speedometer Pickup Mount

On a recent outing, I noticed that the trip meter of my Trailtech Vapor computer wasn't racking up the miles. Then I saw that the speedometer wasn't working or was intermittent. At the next rest stop I discovered that I had bashed the fork guard and the portion of it where I had the speedometer pickup was busted off. I tied back the dangling piece with a zip tie and figured I'll make the repair once I got home.

In looking at the bottom of the fork, I see a couple of unused threaded holes that I can make use of. I have some angle aluminum laying around that I can fabricate a bracket out of it.

After cutting, measuring, drilling, tapping and filing, here's what I ended up with:

Two shots of it mounted on the bike:

...and with the plastic guard back on:

It turned out pretty well and it's very sturdy. I think it will survive another bashing.

Nice fab work....just wondering why you didn't use the caliper to mount the pickup?
