I love the skid plate. It fits awesome, looks great and does an even better job. I'd say spending 100 would be worth it.

I agree that its worth the 100 bucks. Mines on the way. It will be my first "mod".

This thread has sure taking an unexpected turn, lol. Entertaining none the less

Now I'm confused, was I out of line here or should I have left it alone. Either way, if someone pops in here and calls me a dumbass for no reason than I might take issue. Know what I'm saying?

Its all good guys, lets get back to the subject at hand. The Utah plate was one of those group buys that I got in on and I ahve to tell you its great knowing that I am well protected. Its worth it weight in silver. or aluminum, or gas, shoot diesel is $3.90 a gal here in the great northwest. I gotta start riding the bike more.

yeah, I was one of those late-comers to the forums and didn't learn about the group buy for the utah until I had already bought my MSR skid plate. BUT that's not to say I can't still order the utah skid plate, just gotta wait for the right moment, like when my wife goes away for the week-end or something.

Thanks, I'm no deej but I try...

No, actually I use Simple Green Max and I don't dilute it. I spray it on and use a bottle brush to work it into the tight spots around thehoses and stuff, then rinse it off with the hose. The stuff is awesome, but I should try diluting it because it sure doesn't go far the way I use it.

Also, after the bike is clean and soemwhat dry,I spray a thin coat of WD40 all over the engine and side covers and carb..then start the bike and let any overspray burn off the exhaust. I find this helps keep away the rustys and also makes it easier to clean the next time around.
