Default Using MX-Hauler

I use an MX-Hauler carrier to transport my KLX250S. With this carrier the bike sits on the bash plate and the wheels hang down. I worry about dragging the wheels when going up driveways and such.

Do you think it would hurt anything to use rachet straps to raise the forks and the swing arm as high as they will go while on the carrier?

Thanks,
Norm

A lot of people use a fork brace when strapping down their bikes to avoid compressing the forks too much. I've heard it wears out the springs and can eventually cause your fork seals to leak. Maybe you could get some air shocks on your vehicle.

The time spent Compressed on the road should not harm the springs. Better you compress them temporarily than drag the wheels. The lesser of two evils. I can see that you would not want too store the bike compressed too long though.

The reason I use a brace is to reduce the chance that the bike bounces in the trailer on rough roads and looses a tie down. Not so worried about the springs, the springs in the mag of my M4 are always compressed and they never let me down.

You can tie down the front shocks 3/4...no problem..
