I dropped the front mud guard by 8cm. using stainless steel pipes, with washers and screws. I cut the single pipe bought from the supplier below into 8cm sections. The stainless steel M6 bolts would be about 10cm long, and fit nicely up the inside.

I don't ride off road aggressively, and the odd time i would ride up over the kerb does not cause the wheel to touch the mudguard. The benefit is that water does not now spin off the wheel in front of me, so the overall ride on a wet road is much drier for the rider (me!). Because the mud guard is closer to the wheel the water runs down onto the road, or under the bike.

 

I can't see the pic for some reason. But an interestingly timed post. A guy I know recently did the same thing. He wanted it to look more like his KLE front fender. Thing is, he goes offroad a lot. Not sure how that will affect the dirt ride....

 

I seem to use a lot of travel in general based on the look of the slider marks on the lower tubes and I don't really work it that hard. I'd think bottoming the first one would be rather easy.

That lower pic looks like it is mounted in some way on the lower tubes. Looks like they used a street bike integral fender/fork protector like most inverted fork sport models us. Might just be from a KLE if they run inverted forks, maybe from some adventure bike that runs a 21.

I remember a little while ago seeing a pic here of some guys bike. He was rockin TWO front fenders. A streetbike style tire hugger and a classic moto x style. He had a lot of carbon fiber farkles on his bike like the zeta stuff. Anyone else remember that pic?
