I've always been curious, what would it take to turn a 450 enduro bike, ala the CRFX, the KLX450, or the WR, into a reliable and low maintenance commuter?

Sounds like something i'd like to try out once i've got a job and a house to call my own. Buy a used enduro bike, and turn it into something I can take to work without sweating valve jobs.

 

you will be sweating valve jobs with those bikes.......in the backyard of yer new house....

 

I'm sure all 3 of those are reliable however they will not be low maintaince
