Default UFO HEADLIGHT

Does anyone have a UFO headlight/turnsignal assembly on their KLX. I was wondering how it mounts on, any difficulty? It would sure look clean.

It probably mounts like the acerbis with rubber straps.

Hello Dan,
I use the UFO OREGON headlight with turn signalson my wife's KLX250 & one on my own KLX250. I also put one on our riding buddy's KLX 250. I have made a mounting kit to fit the KLX 250 without any mods to the bike. You could e-mail me & I'll send you pictures of the mod. The pictures of the bike & mods were removed from the long term KLX250 site, but are being put back on sometime this week. b_joblue@sbcglobal.net

Welcome, Bill! Great to see you here.

Also, any chance you could post the pictures here? I'd love to see the mod. If you don't have a hosting service, you can e-mail them to me and I'll make a folder on my smugmug account to put them and you can link them in from there.

Bill, any product made by you I am very anxious to see.

For those of you who haven't heard of Bill Blue, he's the one who makes those wonderful adapter rings for the TM-33 to make it plug-n-play on ourKLX250. He alsooffset, overbores the barrel.

Welcome to the forumBill.

Hi guys, Bake here. Bill and JoAnn Blue's riding buddy. Here comes some pics I've got of the mods on JoAnn's bike.I have an '07 that is pretty much the same except I'm keeping with the drilled out stock pipe and a rejetted stock carb. (for now[sm=burnout.gif])

The first mod I did was mount the Wolfman Enduro tankbag, I think it's a great fit, and is big enough to get a few bottles of drinks and a big sandwich, for those all day trailrides.

I guess since this is my first visit, I'll give ya a look at what else I ride. '03 BMW K1200RS and the '04 BMW R1150R.
Thanks,
Bake

Bake, welcome aboard. It looks like you have a lot to add to our little family here. I like your BMWs. Very sharp.

What are we looking at in the above pics? I know the headlight assembly is different (UFO), which I am interested in. What is the other stuff going on?

Thanks,
Chris

Bill has mounted the WER steering damper in that pic. JoAnn's bike. Those are super...they work to keep the twitchy out of the steering. Adjustable, rebuildable. They slow down the speed the forks turn. They slow down the front fork's turning speed the most when the front end is straight forward, and down to zero at full lock. It helps to keep the front wheel from being deflected when you hit, say, a rock on the sidewall of the tire..instead of causing a quick twitch, the steering damper would damp out that movement, in otherwords, fractionally slow down the movement of the handlebar at the moment the wheel reacts to the side loading. It helps when you get into loose rock or ruts by taking away the "swordfighting the handlebars", therefore stablizing the steering. Can't wait to mount mine up this weekend. A BIG Thanks go out to Bill for getting ahold of one and fabricating the needed bracket.
