Default UFO fork guards

dan888, your suggestion on those UFO KX fork guards worked out great. My OEM models finally got brittle enough to start cracking every time I had to work on the front of the bike. With my upcoming trip to Moab, I decided it was high time to try them. The plastic in these UFO versions seems much more pliable. Even when new, the OEM versions were really stiff and seem too easy to crack. UV can ultimately kill anything, but the UFO plastic seems more like the fender plastic...tough but pliable. I went ahead and used some collared washers to mimic the OEM bolting method so the plastic wouldn't be in a bind between the bolt head and fork leg. Thanks for tip.

That'll be five bucks. LOL

I really can't take the credit, all I did was pass on some information I found here on KF. I took some bits and pieces of info on here and put it all together with some pics to make a "how to" thread. TNC, I agree with you that the material (probably polyproplyne) looks like it will hold up better. I like the washer idea, I just bolted them down, and let them bend. I may revise my installation .

They look good. Do they have a guide collar at the top?
I broke one of my OEM guards and it was about $38.00 for one!!!! Next time I'll go this route.

That $5 check is in the mail, dan.

Heck dan, for a guy who made that cool front brake line guard out of nothing but tin foil and a tree branch, adding some collared washers to your fork guards will be a cake walk.

Yeah, kinda dropped the ball there. One of those ahh it's good enough. You have guilted me into correcting my laziness though.

Here's another tinfoil project you might get a kick out of. https://www.kawasakiforums.com/forum...ad.php?t=27266

My, my...aren't you the busy bee...LOL! Hey, that was pretty nice work there. Some of this type of thing turns into more trouble than it's worth, and some projects are super rewarding. You can proud of that one.
