DirtSurfer,
So stock bars with Tusk D-Flex hand guards and no cables rubbing or binding?
Correct...

The only thing I changed out was that Iwent with shorter 8mm bolts since I didn't have to use the expander mechanism that comes with the handlebar inserts.1.5 inches into the slug was ample holding power since the slug (weight) is welded in to the bars so well...

OK cool... you just made my decision much easier. Iam still debating on Tusk aluminum bars though. At $24.99 they are looking good.

Ha, me too on the bars I'm ordering the tusk bar risers ($20 and adjustable) tusk guards with spoilers and maybe the bars.

Man! I tell you what, you flat out can't beat Tusk can you. I mean everything they come out with is as good as the regular name brand stuff (I suspect they are made in the same factory oftentimes), and the prices are great.

I spoke to a rep at rockymountainatv.com the other day about the Tusk oil filters ($2.99). I am almost positive that they are made by HiFlo because the part number for the HiFlo is HF112 and the Tusk part is TK112 or something like that. She did not know who made it, but she said that they definitely just re-branded someone elses part. She said the Tusk line of products has proven to be very popular for them, so they are adding new stuff all the time. I hope that they maintain the high standards that they seem to have now.

I have been trying to pick up a pair of Raptor bend bars since folks have been talking about them so much lately. I have been lurking on Ebay looking for a deal, but it looks like I can just pick up the Tusk bars and be done with it. You're not going to be $25 on a set of aluminum bars.

Nice find.

The Tusk handguards look great! Do you have to cut down the clutch/brakes levers? Thanks.

Correct, just loosen them a bit, move them in a tad, slant to suit, and lock-em.... POC.

Just finished up the install of the Tusk D-flex handguards and the Tusk Raptor bend Aluminum handlebars last night. The install was fairly straight forward. I still need to move some things around and the only potential issue that I noticed was that the throttle cables pulled a little tight at full lock left. Also pulled the instrument cluster off and moved some of the wires around to get more length. The guards are 10 times better than stock in looks and functionality, and the bars make for a way mor comfortable ride.

First time trying to post pics, so we'll see what happens:

johnnyz62, I was just about to order those exact bars. What are your thoughts about the throttle cables? Are you going to be able to work that out, or is that a potential deal breaker? I love the idea of a little bit higher bar, but I don't want to cause more problems than I am fixing.

Thanks, Chris
