Default Trouble Changing Gears

Hi Guys

I am experiencing trouble changing gears between 2-3rd and 3rd-4th. when I have been reving theengine atfull throttle. It just wont change even with clutch fully in and throttle off. If I ease the revs up t 4k and change I have no problems. I am new to riding and am wondering if this is normal or maybe i am using bad technique when judging when in the rev range i chould be changing.

Your thoughts and advice would be greatly appreciated.

How new is the bike and have you changed your oil lately?I know when it's time to change my oil it doesn't seem to shift to good or have you tried adjusting your clutch to completely disengage? You should be able to wind right up and shift with no problems.

Sounds like its you. No need to be completley off the throttle, just back it down a bit & the longer you wait after pulling in the clutch the worse you will be. Its all about RPM matching--matching the speed of input & output shafts the gears ride on in the transmission. You want them to be the same speed, the bigger the difference in speed, the harder & clunkier it will shift.

so do I.....Don't feel bad I been doing it for a few years on a number of bikes but i still screw up and cause problems for myself.....If you are on blacktop it makes you feel everything you thought did not exist.Sometimes if you are very tired it will cause havoc with your shifting.......If you are tired then rest .....then see what happens.....If it's still bad then you have a legit complaint.......I thought the same thing so just try it out.when i'm fresh i shift great but when fatigue sets in forget about it.!!!!

5000 miles on mine and I routinely shift at redline, but I don't keep the throttle pinned. Its a timed coordination, as the right wrist is rolling up the clutch is going in and foot clicking it up a gear, then as the clutch is going out, its going back to WOT. I typically change my oil every 700-1000 miles.......or when it starts to shift rough whichever comes first.
