TM36-68 Tuning?
After doing my 351 I have a slight hesitation when I crack the throttle hard and ever so slight lean condition at about 1/8th throttle opening. I'm running a 22.5 pilot jet, .9 air jet, P8 needle jet, 9EBY01-50 jet needle on the 3 clip and a 127 main. I'm running a 200 snorkle with K&N and a 300 full exhaust uncorked. The bike runs strong and will wheelie in first and second gear. I'm thinking it needs more fuel from the accelerator pump and thinking of changing the noozle to a larger size then changing the needle jet to fix the slight lean on the 1/8th throttle but to what? One strange thing is the fuel screw has little to no effect on the idle but it does have a stable idle. Float set a 19 mm. Is the P4 needle jet richer or leaner than the P8?
Also I notice that you can install a pilot air jet in the choke enriched circuit. I wonder how this who effect the choke if I installed a 1.0 air jet? Richer or leaner? I know this has nothing to do with my slight issues but the TM36-68 has a very rich choke and maybe this would lean it out a touch.

Yes, I initially set it as as everyone else did, 1/8th start and 3/4 finish. Then set it at coming on as soon as the throttle moves and still have a small hesitation on a wide open throttle crack. If I apply slight pressure with my finger to "help" the accelerator pump I can get the hesitation to go away so that the reason I'm thinking a bigger accelerator nozzle.
I set my squirt duration by throttle response. With the engine warmed up, I keep cracking the throttle while adjusting the duration screw for best response. But, I'm only feeding a 300cc engine.
