Most of my communt is 4.5 miles each way to work and thats about 5 days a week. and depending upon the weather I go out from the street to a hole in the wall, places all over so, i guess its mostly road but i dont want bs traction off road. i figure i got 2500 miles out of the stock tires, actuall i got a little bit to go yet so say 3000 miles, no highway, so.. thats about it

I luv a cocky statement like this......I was not going to comment on tire suggestions because you seem to have it covered for your needs and I ride in soft sand.....now punkduro here thinks the 606 is some magic tire, which it is not.....try riding that sucker soft sand..lol...good luck. Shoot even my ktm adventure tank gets a more aggressive tire than that...the klx gets max **** that may just be street legal according to a sticker....just sayin for me and how I ride her.

I soon need new tire for front and I'm gonna get Kenda 270. Got one on the rear and lovin it. IMHO best tire for the money.

I have said it before and I'll say it again----Tire choice is a process of trial and error to find what works best for YOU. We all ride differently in different areas with different types of terrain.

Just my opinion. I have two sets of rims, for the street and occasional dirt/gravel road or hard pack wide trails I am using a pair of Kenda 270's and am happy with them. On the road they seem to hold well enough and do fine on dry hard pack or dirt roads. On my spare rims I have a set of TrackMaster II 760's which work very well in mud, rocks and loose dirt. Not very good in sand type conditions, but I do not run into that too often. When these wear out I may try a more dedicated off road tire since now that I have spare rims DOT tires are not really so important to me for off road use.

What I love about the Kenda's is the price, they are rather cheap and from what I have read, the 270's last a long time on the road. (reports of 10k from a rear tire)

The biggest issue you will face is use, if you want an aggressive off road tire it will die a quick death if used on the street too much, if you want a good street tire, it isn't going to be very good in the muck and mud or sand. That is why I gave up and got spare rims, this way I can switch back and forth in 30 min before I head out.

I have really enjoyed a couple sets of the Maxxis 6006 tires. It has a fairly round profile and leans really well in turns on the road and has deep enough treads to handle mud. They are long wearing, inexpensive ($60), and I've been really happy with them.

Good looking street biased tire!
I might try those after the K270's

As requested, here's a photo of my bike with a Maxxis 6006 front and rear. Rear tire is new, front is about 3k miles.
