Hi,

Just got my first bike, a 2010 KLX250s and I'm a bit confused on tire sizing. According to the specs I've seen it takes a 100/100-18 in the rear and 80/100-21 in the front, but from what I've read here and other places it seems like the bike can take other sizes as well. Does that require new wheels or what?

Main question.. I am doing about 80/20 road/dirt so I'd like to get something like the Shinko 705s, but I don't see them available in the above size. Is there some other configuration that would fit? Or another tire entirely that would work? I'd even take a decent 50/50 tire as long as it can perform well on the highway at about ~65mph.
