Timor KLX Fi 250 2009
Hi alll new here.
Thanks for all the great info so far.
I think I possibly own the ONLY klx 250s Fi in Timor and have an insterssting problem.
I can push start this beast in the morning or cold engine start but cannot electric or kick start it.
I have spark from lead - Checked
Fuel pump primes - Checked
No ECU fault codes - Checked
No wire chaffing or earthing - Checked
Fuses - Checked
Cleaned throttle body - Checked
Could it be the really bad fuel here?
Could the plug be faulty?
When warm I can electric start
And when going it pulls quite well, no stuttering etc..
I think its running lean...just a feeling. I would like to richen but don't hav access to any specials parts....is there a bush hack there? Maybe a resistor inline somewhere?
Thanks for your help in advance!

G'day MAV
Battery brand new so getting a good crank but absolutely no firing.
I think it may well be down the valve clearances as the bike has 40k on it and I doubt it has been done before.
Now to find some shims and a decent feeler gauge. The joys of remote islands
Nobody with some spare shims in Melbourne? Have a mate coming up in 2 weeks...

Nish to track down feeling gauge set in this remote part of the world what a score. Once I figure out the required shins my mate will buy them in Melbourne I'll have them in a week and a half! Yipee. maybe this thing will actually start ha ha
Also getting him to send up a couple of NGK spark plug's as the only ones here are from Indonesia garete or something
Will attempt the MCM mod with the camshafts out and see how that goes
What's the best way you guys are posting pictures on this site? And like to share some of the travel photos

Hi Simon. U
I am in Indonesia also. North Sumatra. Kawasaki can order parts here for me but they take about 6 months to arrive. I usually get my parts from Motorsport.com.
ps
im george. Also KLX 250S with a EJK fuel mod box. FMF full exhaust system.

Timor has just gotten Toll so I'm hoping that means more accessible bike gear as we should be able to get it delivered !will see .
Meanwhile I have measured the shims and the inlet was completely zeroed so I think that was my hard start problems....will received new plugs, shims and filters next week from a friend arriving. Hoora.
How is you experience with motorsport.com? They deliver to Sumatra?
Should be able to deliver to Timor then
Will try and post some pictures as the camshaft cap needs a helicoil
