Test Ride
Well I almost can't believe I'm gonna say this, but if you're coming off a bike that can wheelie in 4th doing 40, they you will be disappointed. Even with the mods you are probably not going to be able to do that on the KLX. If you're looking for a great DS bike that is OK on the road and OK on the trails, then the KLX is the bike. Don't get me wrong I love my bike and it will be with me for as long as I can breathe, but you might want to check out the Honda 650. Its sleek and has the power you are looking for.

How did I do IG? I'm just trying to be honest. If you expect too much out of this bike you will be disappointed, if you are just getting back into riding after a few years and just want to have fun then you will be pleasantly surprised. That's the best I can do for you man.

Looked at the 650, and if I had the money and parents would let me thats what I would be getting. I dont need all the power the 400 had, Ill mostly be doing trail rides and crusing from the appartment to school (>4 miles) and in town driving. As long as the bike will keep up with traffic up to 50 mph with decent acceleration I should be fine
50 mph is no problem... If you were in pittsburgh ya could take mine for a ride... but its far from stock. It really is a great bike, you can go 60 no problem... but its only a 250, not anywhere near the power of a 400.... just keep that in mind, i think for a 250 it runs good.
