Progressive springs will blow through the soft area in my opinion and will create dive on breaking.
Re-valving the shock may help with progressive springs.
I re-valved/re-sprung with straight gauge springs with promoto and am very happy with the new setup. I think I have the .44 & weigh 175 without gear.
I think the forks generally need to be revalved, but if all your worried about is dive, stronger springs will help as a low cost option.

I have Moto Pro front springs. After contacting them and going with their recommendations, 044 I found the front was still way too soft and the dive was still there. So I purchased another stiffer set, 046 and it is now much better. I still feel that I could have gone up another notch. The standard springs up front are 038.
I weigh in at 82 kg and use the bike with 2 set ups, Dirt wheels and Sumo on road.
I have that set of 044 that I will get rid of to a lighter rider, but as I mentioned I am 82 kg and using 046, so 044 would need a skinnier pilot.

There are several considerations to take into account when picking fork springs other than the most important one...rider weight. How you ride, where you ride, and one's preference for suspension performance all come into play. A guy on a supermoto will likely have different needs than a guy riding off road on the two types of KLX. I'm 190 pounds and ride almost exclusively off road. I run .44 fork springs, because anything heavier seems to make most of the trail rubble you run irritatingly rough. If I were doing nothing but dirt roads and pavement on my bike, I could probably do .46's with no issue. Make your choice carefully, because one spring weight is not likely to fit all even at the same rider weight.

Ugh, this is hard. I prefer when there is just an easy simple answer. I want to maintain the offroad capability of my dual-sport bike, even if I spend the majority of my time on the road.

So, it seems like I should get somewhere between 0.42 and 0.46 for the front at my weight. Maybe 0.44 is a safe bet at my weight that will firm up the front on the road, but still be soft enough to soak up bumps in the rough?

I think I will have to think about this and maybe read up some more.

Thanks RimBender, but I think I will have to think about it for awhile. I am putting the bike away for winter soon so I will have 3 months to decide what to go with.

Ill probably go with the .44 moto pro though.
