Default Suspension setup for 190lb rider on 2006 KLX 250s

Hey all,

I'm finally looking to swap out my suspension components and wanted to run this by you, hopefully someone can chime in.

I'm 5'11" 190lbs. I'm thinking about going with the KLX300 kits for both the front and rear for the valving and using .44 Race Tech fork springs with a 6.0 spring in the rear.

Has anyone used this setup? Appreciate your thoughts.

Talk about "carbon copy"...I'm 6-feet and weigh 190 nekkid and have an '06 model. I have .44 RT fork springs and a 6.0 Eibach rear spring. Both front and rear units are using RT Gold Valve dampers. It's been about as perfect a match for me and my riding as I can get. All parts were KLX300 parts for my '06 KLX250 fork and shock. The rear spring is longer than OEM-250, but not too long when proper preload is set. The front springs are a hair shorter but easily addressed with a short spacer. The setup has worked great for me in mild to wild riding. It's quite plush but still retaining good big hit quality. It's not motocross track style setup, but you'd have to use almost harsh spring rates to use the bike for big jumps and high speed whoops like you see on a serious MX track. That's not what this bike does well anyway due to power and weight.
