X2 on iridium plug. Improved start hot or cold and my bike just rides better

Sure would be a lot easier than rejetting. I'll pick one up this week. So just any iridium plug? The service manual says I need a Special Tool - Spark Plug Wrench, Hex 16: 57001-1262 to remove it. Can't I just use a long socket?

Not just "any" iridium plug. My personal preference is NGK brand and the size and heat rating need to match what's in there already. There should be a plug tool in the tool pouch under the seat, just be gentle with it coz they're made out of the same stuff as the spanners ie case-hardened cottage cheese. Unless of course things have picked up since my last bike ... which I doubt.

Took the bikes out today! The mod absolutely worked by grounding the blk/yel wire to the engine. Pulls solid now from start and no stmble/surge at 6500-7000 3/4 throttle like before. Smooth as could be. Both bikes run great.

I don't believe anyone has reported this issue with the 06-07 bikes FWIW
