Subframe in '09 model
Forgive my english but i want ask about the frame of new klx 250 s 2009 because i saw many pics that show the subframe broken under the end of seat in KLX model bedore 2008.
I not still decided if buy KLX 250 or WR 250 just for this problem. I searched weak or broken frames pics or discussion in internet about WR 250 R but i not found nothing so i it's so much more strong?
I think i will use bike for some trip so i will need load it
Thanks

I don't think any of the KLX's have a super strong rear subframe and thats why some of the guys here use the Cycleracks rear rack that gives extra support. I don't know much about the WR's frame set-up.
The CycleRacks rear rack does a great job of beefing up the subframe. Seems to transfer most of the load to the passenger footpegs. Also protects the rear turn signals/plastic and provides handholds when picking up the bike. I've lifted the rear of the bike and dragged it around to stuff the bike in the basement door in late fall using the rack.
I don't think the broken sub-frame is a common problem. If you do get one that cracks it is easily repaired by welding. I don't think i have seen anyone post that they have cracked an "09" frame.
Where in the world are you located Sangucito? Good luck with your decision.

i double this. ive put some load on my rack, raced threw the desert all day and it was fine.
Thanks for so many answer. I like KLX for price (4.200€) and because it's more low than yamaha. Price of WR 250 R (i found some '08 model new) is 5.500€ But the main reason that hold me to decide if buy one or other it's only about subrame because for difference of power i don't interest much I write from Italy (near Milano) and here people don't like much little engine and the owner of dualsport are just few.
