You would be limited using 16s from a ninja 250, but just think about how many of those rims are out there. It would definitely be a lot less expensive than buying custom made 17s. I could deal with the limited tire selection if the rims cost me 10% of what new 17s would cost.

So anyone tried to bolt on some ninja 250 rims? I know this question gets asked pretty frequently, a definitive answer would be great.

I hate to keep bumping this but I haven't been able to find a definitive answer on this in my search of the interwebs. Does anyone know if the rims off a ninja 250 will work as supermoto rims on a KLX250?

there are a few guys over here in Japan who have been using the NSR250 wheels on the KLX, with some spacers and shims.

Wheel looks like this....http://page18.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/w28925058
On the bike looks like this.....http://page5.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/e78767866

OK.as i'm mostly done with this forumn and adding comments i will add this....For the 21/18 combo run a set of Dunlop D607's.they are the ultimate for a sportsman setup and do not argue with me....they just work.I have 6600 miles on my rear tire so far....still prolly 2500 left at least!.as for the 21/17 run the same combo but it then have a matching tread pattern front/rear.If u go to 17's.....run the D607's......not telling u anyting but you can run whatever tire you want but i'm just tellin u what works.asphalt=D607 other than that add the other tires in slowly.....every one does has an opinion but i will stand firm behind this one....unless you have used them and have ever had an issue with handling or failures then lemme know.
