Street knob on front, mega-knob on back?
Does anyone have experience with putting a TKC-80 (street ****) on the front and a mega-**** (pick yer favorite) on the rear of a KLX? I now have TKC's front and back and would like to have something a bit more gnarly on the back for pure off-road (mud, single-track, hills).
FYI, I -love- these tires on pavement/dirt/gravel. I think the front TKC/rear mega-**** would be a good compromise for on/off road handling/traction.

I think someone had a similar setup with the stock front tire and a Trackmaster rear. I think the rear overpowered the front and made offroad steering a bit of an exercise as the front just wanted to push through the corners.
yes by physics you would NEED the extra bite in the front more than you would in the back, unless your drag racing, lol. if you have speed you are going to need something that is realy narly in the front for the dirt, or it would try to slide out a lot, course so will the back with a less agressive. bassically if you go grippy in the back but not hte front just be more cautious on the turns.
I have the stock 603 on the front and a Kenda K772 Carlsbad on the back (full knobby). It works fine for me, however bear in mind I use my S/M rims and road tyres for road work, I do some limited road riding with the knobby but only enough to get me to the dirt.
