Stock spring rates and intended weight
I've found the suspension on my 2007 klx250s to be strange. On trail chatter and pot holes, it seems stiff like I need less compression damping. But, I don't dare, because when I ride off road I find myself blowing through the stroke and bottoming out alot.
Now, at 145 lb I've never had a bike sprung to light for me, but that's how it acts. Race tech recommends 4.02 springs for a 300, but I know there lighter.
I know there miles from the 48mm WP's on my last bike, but surely there is something that can be done to improve.
Any idea's?

Try reducing the rebound damping on the rear suspension a couple of clicks. Most bikes have the correct spring rate for a 60 to 70kg rider, so you shouldn't need a stiffer spring. Check that your preload is setup correctly. There are plenty of video's on you tube showing how to do this.
I have heard that the Racetech calculators are not perfect. I am heavier than you at 195 and got my springs from moto pro at about the same cost as raectech, if not cheaper. The man was great, asked what kind of riding i do, and gave my a tad bit stiffer than needed for jumps. The fact that a human with lots of experience took about an hour explaining to me the details and dynamics of suspension and all my concerns is enough reason for my business. The bike is soo much better the way it is now. I would def recommend at least the front springs for better control and less braking diving.
