Still no plastic skids?
If you have an aluminum plate you could buy 1/4 or 1/2" thick polypropylene on Amazon or ebay, then see if you could "slump it" over the alloy plate using an oven to warm/soften it and allow it to sag. Some have done that to make windshields slumping Lexan over a curved metal plate. It would be worth a try, Here is one that is 1/2 thick with three sizes

I tried making a cutting board skid plate but was never satisfied with the outcome, definitely user error.
My Scorpion (excuse me, Emperor) skid plate came with foam tape to put between the frame and skid plate. That little bit of foam stopped all obnoxious rattles.
It will still ring like a bell on a big rock but it otherwise makes no sound.
