Default Still no plastic skids?

Don't want the weight and the noise of aluminum. Kinda sucks no one bothers to offer this option.

If you have an aluminum plate you could buy 1/4 or 1/2" thick polypropylene on Amazon or ebay, then see if you could "slump it" over the alloy plate using an oven to warm/soften it and allow it to sag. Some have done that to make windshields slumping Lexan over a curved metal plate. It would be worth a try, Here is one that is 1/2 thick with three sizes

Pretty sure Acerbis do them.
I've seen them somewhere.

What noise? I put some scrap heater hose on frame tube before I put my ricochet plate on. No noises from mine and I've had some rough landings on rocks...

Default No noise

I have had mine on for 10 years and I don’t hear a rattle... try it and then do as suggested

I tried making a cutting board skid plate but was never satisfied with the outcome, definitely user error.
My Scorpion (excuse me, Emperor) skid plate came with foam tape to put between the frame and skid plate. That little bit of foam stopped all obnoxious rattles.
It will still ring like a bell on a big rock but it otherwise makes no sound.

I have the aluminum ricochet plate and it only makes noise when it hits something.

Other point, if it is the right kind of foam it will not soak up water and it will not collect mud.

Ditto with the Ricochet skid plate and only making noise when something hits it. I put an aluminum one (pretty sure SW Motech) on my KLR 650 after a rock cracked the plastic OEM one.
