Default Stiff Steering? Something Not right?

Hi Guys,

Came off my bike a few weeks ago (dirt track, just cruising) As I got back on, I noticed my front wheel was slightly shifted from its alignment. When i got home, I loosened clamps on forks and re-aligned front wheel then tightened all clamps again, but the steering has a slight stiffness to it. Doesnt appear to be any cables restricting the turning, but it doesnt feel completely smooth and wants steer very slightly straight?? , head bearings were also fine.... any ideas ?

Cheers Pepe

what year is your bike and how many miles are on it. We need some information before we can help. Most likely it's either a cable that is binding or your steering bearing is too tight.

Did you reset the tension on the steering head bearings? You might want to pull the fork tubes out and check the steering feel with out the weight of the front wheel and forks. Maybe see if the bearing races got dimpled or the cages got tweaked.
