the carb. yank it out of there and clean it really good. including the float and float needle. be carefull not to bend the tang on the float though. it sounds like the float might be sticking. i could be wrong but it's as good a place to start as any.
When I stall my KLX, it does have a little harder time restarting. But usually fires back up in less than 5 seconds when cranking. You may want to run a little carb cleaner through the fuel and see if that may help.
I have read the 11 page thread about starting problems and started shutting the fuel off at the end of the ride and did the tip over to theleft thing for 10 seconds, but today ( it is mother "f"ing cold) it won't even start if I try to pop the clutch down my driveway. The battery is charged, but the thing will not fire. When tipping in the past usually the fuel ran out but not a large amount. Now the fuel keeps running out until I tip it back up, at least that's what I remember. When I try to pop the clutch to start it all it does is die, it doesn't even try to turn over. Is this a plug, carb, or other problem.
Sometimes it's a bear to get the bike to start if you stall it after it haswarmed-up. The best remedy is just to let it set for a bit, if you are in a place where you can do that.
I'm not so sure that pulling the carb apart and cleaning it will help for the hot start problem, but yeah, you could give it a try.

That's exactly my starting issue. I got 'er going yesterday( about 20 degrees F.)by both draining the float bowl and tipping to both sides and boosting the battery. The folks watchin must think i'm nuts.
Even with the extra boost it had to turn over for 10-15 seconds and I had to crank up the idle nut as well. ( about two half turns) And she fired up.
A possible fix is the TM-33 carburator. Have a look here (another good fellow on this site set me on this trail)

The contact Robert said
"TM33 for a stock motor. Will need to rejet it and make an adapter sleeve. Budget around 400$ and some pennies"
And icould expect a "30% performance increase" what ever that means.

$400 FOR A TM-33. that seems a bit high. if i recall correctly i got mine from bill for $325 and he had it all ready to be installed. minus the jetting. call bill blue to see if he's still doing these carbs.
Well, I took it to the shop where I bought it and told them to fix it. I think it has to be a dead spark plug or bogged down carb issue. I charged it for 2 days, then did all the tricks and nothing. Just doesn't want to turn over. It sounds like it wants to, but just can't. Iwas just done messing with it. Hopefully it becomes a warranty thing and I don't have to pay for it. it is interesting how these bike dealers work. It's not like a car problem, it's like you have to have a certain knowledge about more than just basic motorcycle maintainence. I don't feel like they are trying to fix my problem, they just want to ride me off like it's my problem. I want to say, wait a minute, I just bought a $5000 motorcycle from you a-holes, take care of me you bitches. Oh well, we'll see what happens. Thanks anyway guys.
