Compared to almost any other bike that is good MPG. I get about 65 on the klx and a best of 70. My last 200 miles on the 500 was 58 mpg. That is laying on the tank but not trying to be easy. Not ripping either however. The 500 is comfy for me to lay down. I doubt the 250 would be as comfy. The new 250 is similar to the 500 for dimensions and would likely work. A 2008+ 250 was more money though.
