Stable changes
As some of you have noticed, my signature has slightly changed. We sold the RMZ and replaced it with a 07 KX250F. This isnot for me butfor my son to race. I did however take it for a test ride yesterday at the track. Whoa! This is not a bike for the weaker upper body guys! I was on it for a total of about 10 minutes and was getting some serious arm pump! The stiff suspension along with the extremely torquey motor really gives you a work out. The power that this thing puts out is phenomenal!
Shelby(my son) was racing with a CR250 yesterday and the CR couldn't begin to keep up! It's a really cool bike.
We got it shipped in Friday evening, uncrated it and prepped it Saturday, Ole Dad applied the graphics, then took it for a workout Sunday. Exciting mothers day present for Mom, huh?

Very cool! So it runs a little better than your KLX, huh?
I think that's why some guys are dissapointed in the power that the KLX delivers. They see "250" and assume it runs like a MX bike. It's kind of like thinking a 429from a Lincolnwill run like a Boss 429 out of a Mustang.
You seem to have a few different brand names represented in your garage. Just curious, but why did you choose the KX over all the other MX bikes?

Very nice, hey I forgot that you were the one that got the TW200 for the wife, how does she like it? Does the 07 have an adjustable rear shock? The 04 doesn't, I still wonder why Yamaha did that. Even with my fat body on it I can barely get the suspension to move. I wonder if it is just supposed to be that way. Oh and get that garage floor re-painted mister. How am I going to eat off the floor when I setup camp in there. Remember I will clean for room and board, oh and if I can ride everything in there.

Yeah, I had a feeling that valves are one of the reasons you didn't go with a CRF. The KX250/450 have the best low-end torque in their class, which is really confidence inspiring. The fact that Kawasaki has made the power delivery and control ultra-smooth helps as well. The YZ is another very good machine and seems to be the best on valve life, but those suckers are pricey! They don't quite have as much low-end oomph as the Kawi either. As for the Huskies and KTM's, I don't have much knowledge of those bikes.
