Weird, I was looking into this, this morning and found these guys:

http://www.moto-pro.com/

They have a "my bike" part where you can put in your bike, what you weigh, and the type of riding you might possibly do. You will need to put in the KLX 300 in since our bike is not listed.

The nice thing is that these guys are located over in Woodinville. So who knows, I may just ride over and check them out.

Thanks to okiswede81 for finding this web site, the ball is rolling , I contacted moto pro suspension today and he wants to see the bike tomorrow to start the process of figuring out what hidden inside of the klx suspension he will pull the front springs to measure length and also take weight reading, we will also do this to the rear, That way from what he says we will have a base line to start from for any riders weight. I will keep you all informed on the process.

I just messed with the racetech site and if I chose the klx300 '06 model and put in 180 lbs it said the stock spring is too stiff, if I used the klx250r '96 it said the stock spring was too soft. I'll be waiting to find out what you guys can learn when you get your springs tested.

Ok, quickie update from our little visit to the Moto-pro guy.

First off, this guy is very knowledgable. Every once in awhile he would start speaking in math and engineering-o-nese and he would lose me. But, he set up the sag on scat's bike took a bunch of measurments which gave him a good starting point to start working from.

Told scat to go home and remove the shock and forks and bring them back to him this morning. Which is why scat hasn't posted any thing last nighy or today since he was tearing his bike apart.

With the numbers he got yesterday, he will check the spring and replace it with one that will suit scat. as for the forks, he needs to remove the springs to measure and test them also. Even though the forks look the same as the KLX 300, they might not be the same intenally. Also, he told us the KLX 300 uses the "short" KYB" springs. These are a pain in the butt to find. But, he can get them made if he needs to. So he is pretty sure the "long" ones are in there and he has those in stock.

So, once the guy gets all the numbers he needs, he will run it thru his computer and will be able to offer it to all of us. he already has the shock springs in stock and they will fit our bikes, and he will be able to offer them on his website.

So the ball is rolling, and after talking to him and seeing him work, I feel very comfortable having him doing my bike after he gets done with Scat's.
