I just lay the bike down, put the filter back in, bolt it up then pick the bike up again easy.

Great places to ride off road, since we don't have much to choose from around here.

Thanks for the info. Edgerton is only like 20 minutes away and I've been there once on my bike.

I just bought a KLX205S Saturday. Changing out all the fluids so I know what I got. Ran into the spring... Here's my milk jug tool:

Dude great video, and might I add you are a great communicator, its as if you were reading off a teleprompter. Nice job man! I will probably bend the spring on my next oil change, I might as well join the club and stop fighting it.

I just put the smallest little dab of instant lock tight on it. Hold it long enough to get the filter in. Haven't had any problems yet

Just bend the bottom of the spring to fit tight and it wont fall out at all... did that a couple years ago, best thing ever.

I've been using grease all along because I couldn't think of anything better, now that i realized you could just bend the spring... I feel like ive been shown the light.

Ive never liked the idea of adding that little bit of grease i used to lay the bike on it side.

The service manual shows a dab of grease on the back of the filter. Didn't see that until after I made my tool. I don't like the idea of bending the spring... because it'll break on me and find it's way into the motor. That's the kinda luck I have.

I use just a little bit of mental levitation-type energy, and hold it there with my mind....

I put the little dab of grease on there just to increase the viscosity of my oil.
