SherpaDude... You have got to be kidding me! I figured I was the only person on the planet that rides both a Ducati 848 and a KLX-250. I love both bikes and even though the DUC is an incredible machine it's just hard to beat the all out joy of riding the KLX. It so much more relaxed fun than riding the 848. If I were the original posted, knowing what I know, I'd sell the Gixxer and get the KLX. Trust me, if you regret the decision, you'll be able to replace the GSX-R600 in a heartbeat. I looked for a solid month of a KLX-250 and basically had to luck into the one I own now. They are hard to find and that's good for resale. Around here they go for around $3900-4500 for an 2006!

I traded up my 05' 636r for a 07' klx. Would never go back. Not one cop gives me a second look. With the large rear sprocket speeding is no big deal. I was always thinking before maybe today is the day I could lose my liecence. It fun to ride. Was hard trying to deal with all 6 gears and doing 120kph or twist 1 gear on my 636. Or passing a car at 80 kph but be doing lots more before getting pass the front bumper. The sure power and speed are missed. But torque and the ablity to use all it's power without waiting for that jail term. Make it a sure move, besides I can ride for hours and my back and neck don't feel a thing.

 

I have a ZZR1200 and a ZZR600 in addition to the KLX.
Keep the Gixxer.
