man the S model must be faster then the SF I've had my on I-80 with throttle pegged and my speedo reads 80 on flat ground which is like 73mph, sure there a few down hill sections that get me up to 88 per speedo but that is it.....him must be the 45 tooth rear might be time for a new mod.

mine is a 2009 sf with stock 14/39 gears a fmf q4 a dyno jet kit and uni filter with snorkel removed and a 218 pound rider.

will the 45 rear give me more torque?

I was only able to get my DTracker (KLX250SF) up to 88mph WOT on a flat highway, but I weigh 200 lbs and had another 50 pounds of travel gear on board. I found the bike amazingly stable and wanted to go faster.

I think if the suspension is set right it's feasible

So speaking of suspension settings vs wobble. I have noticed that after I stiffened front and rear springs and around the same time switched from a 110/(not sure if it was 80 or 90 now) rear to a 140/80 rear I now get some shake when accelerating hard into and thru the 60's and70's Have not tried to hard accelerate any faster than that. But if I bring the speed up a little less quickly I dont get the wobble.
I was thinking it was from bigger taller rear and was thinking next rear will be a 130/80. Is it more likely from the stiffer springs?
Rear spring went in at same time as new tire. Front springs preceded by about a week and I did not notice any wobble.
Cheers Jim

83 or 84 is all I Can get on out of my 09SF Even with the 351. I have not changed the gearing.I checked the speedo with a GPS. Bike reads 70 GPS reads 65 mph.

Its turning 10,000 rpm at 83 in 5th gear. RPM drops in 6th, but no MPH gain. Its outa power.

I believe the highest I saw stone stock was 92 mph on a long fairly steep downhill. Maybe 88 mph or so on level ground. I haven't run it to top speed since I changed to a KLX300 pipe and rejetted.
Of course the above speeds are per the speedo on the bike, GPS was more like mid-80's top speed.
