Default So if I move back to California...

...would I be able to register my bike?
And would I be able to register my '93 KLX650R, which came from CA?
And what about my '96 Ducati with only 4000 miles?
The bikes could be a total deal breaker.

Just stay in New England for a couple more years and it will be just like California anyway due to all the transplants.

It's a damned shame that a state with so much potential for economic power and natural beauty has transformed into a failing, chaotic, almost communist regime. I won't be going back for any riding or such any time soon. Colorado seems to be moving that way also with so many transplants from other areas of the country with California-like mentality. They want to micromanage every aspect of your life, and on top of that they do such a lousy job at it.

I don't know about your specific bikes, try looking on the DMV website or post on ADVrider where you'll find others with the same bikes in CA. I believe any 49-state bike with over 7,500 can be registered here. I think you want to look at the EPA stickers on the frame too.

My guess is you're fine on the 250 and the Duc. Prolly fooked on the 650R.

I'm not sure about the bikes, but you might as well leave your guns at the Arizona border.

What no guns? Didn't even think about those.

Yeap, nothing over 10-round mags and if you have a AR-15 you'll need a bullet button. Seriously, the gun laws here suck. Do a little research before to make sure your in compliance. Oh ya, and depending where you live expect to be finger printed and show ID to buy ammo. Same applies to buying ammo online.

Wow, my .22 rifle holds more ammo than 10 rounds.
I was planning on keeping my house, and letting friends use it and friends of friends rent it for long weekends and such, to hopefully cover the property taxes.
I could see leaving the guns here, locked in the cabinet and welding the cabinet into my shipping container and locking that up...

What it boils down to is, I need to move back to somewhere where I can make some real money.
And the bikes gotta come with, they provide sanity, along with my dog Max.

I've got a bunch of friends in LAlaland that are trying very hard to get me there. I'm not sold on the idea, having lived there before. I do love visiting though...could do more of that with a real income...

If the '93 KLX650R came from Cali shouldn't that be an automatic in for return, especially as household goods as part of a relocation?
